not random just disordered
Hello and welcome to spaghettihead, a collection of miscellaneous marvels, premier peculiars, and opulent oddities.
Er... what on earth does that mean? To be honest, I'm not entirely sure, but I'll try my best to shed some light on why I decided to create this site, whatever it decides to be. First and foremost, I enjoy creative writing. So I thought it would be a good idea for me to use a website to provide that extra incentive for me to keep on writing in order to help develop my writing skills, or at least find out if I have any or not.
My basic objective was to find some personal webspace somewhere for me to house a blog and which also doubles as a container for me to hold and display any short stories I may write. Oh, and then I had to learn how to build websites, find time to actually sit down and do it, and finally I needed to do it all for free.
Once I got working on this simple premise, it struck me that I knew some very talented individuals who may be interested in contributing to the site by allowing me to upload some of their bits and bobs in the form of artwork, photography, poetry, and other written pieces, which would all help to add colour and variety.
So, I got to work, and grabbing snippets of time wherever I could over the past few months, I have built this little website (with the invaluable advice contained within the pages of this excellent book: Creating a Website: The Missing Manual, Third Edition by Matthew MacDonald). I originally planned to have more features and technical wizardry but I was soon brought back down to earth because I'm not a programmer and I realised that I could spend hours and hours learning how to build in more complexity, which would only increase the risk that the site may never see the light of day. So I figured that I'd just get it up as soon as possible and worry about improving it as I go along. So that is what I plan to do.
Version 1.0 of www.spaghettihead.net.tc is therefore pretty simple and very easy to navigate. All you really need to know is this: ramblings are blog posts (which could be of any topic, depending on what takes my fancy at the time); gallery does exactly what it says on the tab and holds photos, drawings and paintings; and bric-a-brac is a writing space for short stories, poems, and other forms of creative writing.
I'm also planning on tweeting whenever I can, and there is a twitterfeed widget on the homepage for all the latest tweets. If you're interested, why not follow? Just underneath the twitter box are some links to sites that may be of interest, as well as links to some of my chosen charities. Why not donate a little something to these great causes?
I'd welcome feedback so please tweet @Spaghetti_H or e-mail contact@iamspaghettihead.com.
Thanks for visiting and I really hope you enjoy the offerings.
