not random just disordered
You know, I was thinking this weekend, of how nice it is to see scenes of genuine joy and happiness for a change, immersed as we currently are in the UK, in a celebratory atmosphere. It is Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee – sixty years of reign.
Now as far as the Royal Family are concerned, I sit in the middle. Yes UK taxpayers have to foot a large bill, but personally, I'm certain that the money the Royals bring in is much larger. And surely it shouldn't all be about money all the time; they do an enormous amount for the UK and the Commonwealth. You can't put a price on how much they are loved and respected around the world, and how much that is reflected upon the UK.
I'm not a Royalist, by any means, and I'm not a Republican. I'm someone who can, occasionally, discard his cynicism, and actually allow himself a moment of enjoyment. The street parties, the concerts, the flotilla, the beacons; I'm loving it.
